Crop PDF
Drag the box on the preview to choose what to keep, then apply it to every page or just the one you're viewing. Nothing is uploaded — cropping happens entirely in your browser.
How cropping works
Drag the corners or edges of the box on the preview to choose what to keep, or type exact percentages for the top, bottom, left, and right margins. Use the page number field to preview a different page before drawing the box — useful if the page you want to crop isn't the first one. Choose whether the crop applies to every page or only the page you're viewing. "All pages" re-applies the same margins as a percentage of each page's own size, so a crop set on an A4 page still lands in the right place on a Letter-sized or landscape page elsewhere in the same file. "This page only" leaves every other page untouched. Cropping changes a page's visible and printable area — it doesn't touch the underlying text or images, so nothing is deleted, and it works the same whether your file is 2 pages or 300.
How to use Crop PDF
- Drop your PDF. The first page appears with a crop box over it.
- Drag the box's corners or edges to cover the area you want to keep, or type exact margins as percentages.
- Use the page arrows to check the box on other pages, then choose All pages or This page only.
- Click Crop PDF to download the cropped file.
Good to know before you start
- Cropping hides the area outside the box. It doesn't delete it, so text outside the box can still exist in the file. To remove sensitive content for good, use Redact PDF instead.
- When you apply one crop to all pages, the margins are set as percentages. If page sizes vary a lot, check a few pages in the preview first.
- The crop is rectangular. Curved or angled crops aren't supported.
Crop PDF: frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce the file size?
Usually not by much. Cropping changes which part of each page is shown; the content outside the box is still in the file. Use Compress PDF if you need a smaller file.
Can I remove the white margins around a scanned page?
Yes. Drag the box in to the edge of the printed area and apply it to all pages. This is the most common use of the tool.
Can I crop just one page?
Yes. Go to that page with the page arrows, set the box, and choose This page only. Every other page stays as it was.
Will cropped pages print at the cropped size?
Most PDF viewers and printers use the cropped area, so the trimmed margins won't print. Some print dialogs offer a fit-to-page option that scales the cropped area up.
